About

Greetings and thanks for visiting That Gym on Grandview’s website – a wonderful first step to getting inspired to be the best version of yourself! My name is Demi McBeath and I’m an American Council on Exercise certified personal trainer and coach.

My passion is fitness and I am dedicated to empowering, motivating and challenging my clients to achieve their goals – whether you want to look great in your wedding dress, or quit a decade-long smoking habit–we can get there together. My main priorities are establishing effective working relationships with my clients and meeting milestone goals…all with a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and a steadfast work ethic.

My clientele is a diverse group of committed and fun individuals ranging from busy men and women to high school athletes, I enjoy collaborating with clients of all ages, at all levels – from the fitness novice to elite athletes.

Every one of my clients comes to me with a unique set of goals and challenges. Some are purely physical, others are more emotionally rooted. Losing my father at a young age is one of the personal challenges I faced and part of what drives me to help my clients get healthy and stay healthy. I want to hear your goals and what you think is holding you back from achieving them. Then, I want to help you build a plan to break through all that and enjoy the health you deserve.

Clients and I work together on personal fitness plans that include meal planning, fitness training, and lifestyle modification. I motivate and counsel with positivity—because guilt and threats don’t endure. I know how hard it is to stay focused on your goals while wanting to be with your friends at happy hour. I know how hard it is to get in a workout in when you have sick kids. I have three children myself, ranging in ages 10 to 1. I know how valuable your time is, which is why I offer convenient hours and will work with you to develop a training schedule that fits your lifestyle. You can make time for fitness!

As a mother of three, I also understand the importance of keeping your body healthy and in shape during and after pregnancy. I know how hard it is to take off weight after having a baby and no sleep for days–I can help you do it. I’ve been there too!

I am a Fitness Advisor to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. In 2009, I developed a fitness program for medical professionals to fight aches, pains, and serious injuries as they perform grueling and lengthy procedures. I also consulted with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons to ascertain the most common physical problems encountered to develop a multidimensional plan regarding the specific needs of neurosurgeons. I presented the plan to the National Annual Conference of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons in San Diego. I also presented my findings to the Congress of Neurological Surgeons at their annual conference in New Orleans and wrote an article for Neurosugeons’ Lifestyle Journal. (link to the article if it’s available online) I was also featured in The Columbus Dispatch and This Week Community Newspapers in June 2009.
